ONLINE TRAINING AND NUTRITION FOR MARTIAL ARTISTS BY A MARTIAL ARTIST
Body optimized coaching is a culmination of two big passions of mine, physique building and martial arts. I
help fellow martial artists get in shape so they can look like a super hero as well as feel like one. Men and women,
we all want to look and feel like a bad-ass in the dojo. By shedding fat and gaining muscle we also receive another
major benefit. We are able to train our respective martial art more effectively, even as we age.
Is Online Coaching right for you?
If you are looking for someone to help with your form, or to motivate you during a workout then you need to find someone you can work with in person, which unfortunately isn’t me. There are plenty of good trainers or online resources that can help you out with that.
If you are ready to commit to a long-term nutrition and training plan and have someone to guide you, help you stay on that plan, and make adjustments so that week by week you slowly move toward your goal, then you are ready for coaching. The bottom line is that you need to be ready to do the work.
Am I the right coach for you?
If you are good at following a program and don’t need constant handholding in order to stay motivated then we will be a good fit and reaching your physique goals will only be a matter of time. However, if your idea of support is daily text messages and video chats then my coaching style probably won’t be right for you. I provide programs and information that teach basic nutrition and training principles so that you can read them over, digest then and put them into practice so they become ingrained habits. I use follow up sessions to help trouble shoot any problems that arise and teach you how to deal with them in the future. My goal is that through my coaching you will be able to use the knowledge I give to you to pursue your fitness goals on your own if and when you’re ready.
If you are looking for someone to help you with strength or conditioning programming like powerlifting or cross-fit there are several other people I could recommend. The training I recommend is geared specificialy for losing fat and gaining muscle. I want to help you look good and stay healthy so you can keep training. The best way to do this is through bodybuilding style training in order to build and preserve muscle mass. This can be summed up in a great quote by Joe Rogan,
“Age is like a little demon that is slowly robbing you of your tissue. Your ability to walk up stairs, your ability to open up jars, your ability to open the car door when it`s frozen. The only way to stave that of is weight lifting.”
What does the coaching process look like?
A: Read the coaching and about pages to get to know me and see if we would be a good coaching fit.
B: If you decide you are ready, go to the APPLY HERE form at the bottom of this page and fill in your information.
C: I will contact you with a form to fill out with further information. Based on this information I will make recommendations and a prediction in regards to your goals. I will send this in an email along with pricing info.
D: If we decide to work with each other and payment is received I will send you an introductory package with basic training and nutrition information to read over as I construct your program.
E: I will send you all the details of your personalized program. The first week you can ask unlimited questions that you may have about the program.
F: Every two weeks you check in with updated numbers like bodyweight and measurements, along with any comments or questions. I will send you back a detailed email regarding any changes to make and a video where I go over your data in more detail. This continues until you decide you have reached your goals and are confident to continue your fitness journey on your own.
