The Myth of Perfect Health
When talking about staying healthy or improving your
health it may be easier to understand the concept by
thinking of health like a boat.
The type of boat itself represents your genetics. You can
have the best boat ever but it can still sink if something big
and unexpected comes along.
There is no such thing as an unsinkable boat, meaning that
the search for perfect health where you will never get sick is
an exercise in futility.
However, if your boat is sturdy you will be able to weather
most storms and adverse weather conditions. The key is to
realize that being healthy doesn’t mean never getting sick,
it`s about being resilient and being able to ride the waves of
health up and down without sinking.
So how do we do that? Well you need to remember the
most important aspects to keeping your boat/health afloat.
These are the basics. Imagine that your boat has a hole in it
and you`re agonizing over whether you chose the right color
of paint for it. Pretty stupid eh?
With health as well there is a hierarchy of importance.
Playing around with the amount of carbs, fats, and proteins
you eat yet still eating in a caloric surplus when you need to
lose weight is like rearranging the deck chairs on a sinking
ship.
First stop the water/calories from coming in. Focus on
how to reduce the amount of calories you consume then move
on to the other details later if, or when, you need to.

Well said Mitch, I like the analogy. That makes sense.
Thank you. I like the analogy too. For me it helps me to remember what is important and works as a firewall for the next scam that proposes that this “one little trick” is the answer to all health or weight loss problems. I hope it helped you as well.
